KFC recently started marinating their chicken to make it more juicy and craveable, boldly highlighting this improvement with an 11-hr YouTube livestream that immersed viewers in the sights and sounds of a bowl of raw chicken marinating inside a fridge.
To amplify beyond the internet, the livestream was brought to the Tenor South digital screen with a 24-hr takeover. Passersby were strangely mesmerized as they waited for the occasional light flicker or fogging of the screen. Complementary KFC ad spots demonstrated how finger-lickin’ good the new marinated chicken is.
Though KFC claimed the livestream would be “mid at best”, the impact was anything but – the campaign intrigued thousands of viewers, generating buzz across social media.
