Branded Cities brings film to life for Luminato on its Larger-than-Life Full-Motion Digital Spectaculars at Yonge and Dundas

Luminato Festival Toronto presents renowned Canadian photographer Edward Burtynsky’s work ‘In The Wake of Progress’ at Toronto’s premium advertising venue.

Toronto, ON – In September of 2021, Branded Cities, a premiere Out-of-Home media company, partnered with Luminato Festival Toronto in showcasing ‘Encountering Edward Burtynsky’s In The Wake of Progress, a film by Bokeh Creative at Yonge and Dundas. The film featured Branded Cities’ large-format digital spectaculars located at Toronto Eaton Centre, 10 Dundas and Atrium on Bay. Crowds were amazed as the larger-than-life screens showcased Burtynsky’s awe-inspiring imagery accompanied by actors on the square.

“We are honoured to be a part of bringing Edward Burtynsky’s In The Wake of Progress to life on Canada’s largest full-motion digital spectaculars at Yonge and Dundas. It felt like a natural fit to partner with Luminato in showcasing this masterpiece to all of Canada,” said Steve Elman, Chairman and CEO of Branded Cities Canada.

Branded Cities’ collection of almost 24,000 sqft. of digital space used in the film, is the largest domination of digital assets available for ad space in Canada. The screens were the perfect space to bring to life Burtynsky’s beautiful imagery and lent itself to the narrative the film is communicating.

“Luminato was thrilled to work with Branded Cities to present art and creativity on a grand scale. Through our partnership, we created an unprecedented immersive experience at Yonge-Dundas that brought Edward Burtynsky’s powerful images into the accessible realm of outdoor public art. We are thankful for this opportunity to share art with our communities and look forward to future collaborations,” said Jessica Litwin, Chief Development Officer at Luminato.
